Lash lift vs lash lamination vs Lash Filler®
Lash lift, lash lamination, lash botox and Lash Filler® all describe treatments that curl your natural lashes without extensions. The names overlap, which is confusing when you are trying to book. Here is what each one actually means.
The short answer
| Treatment | What it does | Lasts | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lash lift | Curls lashes from the root with a perming and fixing lotion | 6 to 8 weeks | Straight or downward lashes |
| Lash lamination | A lift plus a conditioning step; often used as a second name for a lift | 6 to 8 weeks | Clients who want glossier, healthier-looking lashes |
| Lash botox | Informal name for a lift with a conditioning treatment (no botulinum toxin) | 6 to 8 weeks | Same as lamination |
| InLei® Lash Filler® | Lift, tint and nourishing filler with vegetable keratin; tested to thicken lashes by 25% and lengthen them by 9% in three sessions | 6 to 8 weeks per treatment, with results that build | Thin, fine or weak lashes, and anyone who wants proven results |
Lash lift
A lash lift uses a silicone shield and two lotions to give lashes a lasting curl. It is fast, low-maintenance and suits almost everyone. Read the full lash lift guide.
Lash lamination
“Lamination” comes from brow treatments, where it describes hairs set in a smooth, brushed-up shape. In lashes, salons use it for a lift that ends with a conditioning step, so lashes look glossier. If a salon menu lists both a lift and a lamination, ask what the extra step includes.
Lash botox
Despite the name, lash botox contains no botulinum toxin. It is a marketing term for a lift with a nourishing serum or filler step. Ask which products are used.
InLei® Lash Filler®
Lash Filler® is the lash lift and lamination system made in Italy by InLei®. It has four steps:
- Lash Form 1 shapes the lash on the silicone shield.
- Lash Fix 2 fixes the new curl.
- Lash Filler® 3 fills and nourishes the hair with vegetable keratin, arginine and glycerine.
- Lash Molecular 4 helps reconstruct the hair structure.
What sets it apart is evidence. Following the official protocol, efficacy tests show lashes 25% thicker and 9% longer after three treatments. The current Lash Filler® 25.9 formula is VEGAN OK certified.
Which should you choose?
- You want a quick, natural curl: any good lash lift will do.
- Your lashes are thin, short or brittle: choose Lash Filler®, and book three treatments in a row to see the thickening effect.
- You are sensitive: ask for a patch test, and choose a salon that uses a certified professional system.

Frequently asked questions
Is lash lamination the same as a lash lift?
Mostly. Both curl the natural lash with a perming and fixing lotion. Salons usually say lamination when the treatment adds a nourishing or conditioning step after the lift.
What is the difference between Lash Filler® and a lash lift?
Lash Filler® is InLei®'s lash lift and lamination system. It lifts and tints like a lash lift, then adds nourishing steps with vegetable keratin. Efficacy tests show 25% thicker and 9% longer lashes after three treatments.
Is lash botox the same as Lash Filler®?
Lash botox is an informal name some salons use for a lift with a conditioning treatment. It contains no botulinum toxin. Lash Filler® is a specific, tested system rather than a generic name.
Which lasts longest?
All three last about six to eight weeks, because the curl grows out with your natural lash cycle. Lash Filler® aims to improve the lash itself over repeat treatments.
